The angry old men at the US's Justice Department try to stop Hillary by taking down Martha Stewart

If you feel there is anything sexier to a self confident, real man than a self confident, self realized, strong willed woman, then you are not a self confident, real man.

Yesterday the old white men that run our Justice Department completed their two year long, expensive investigation and indicted Martha Stewart for a lot less than they had claimed they had on her. The SEC's allegations were about insider trading, but the actual criminal charges were obstruction of justice. Their idea of punishment for exercising your constitutional right against self incrimination post 9/11.

Maybe what Martha did as business as usual on Wall street was a little on the shady side. But what is outrageous is that any harm to the public is chump change compared to what the heads of the major financial institutions and brokerage houses did to betray the trust of the investing public. So Sanford I. Weill, Chairman of Citicorp and his ilk remain unscathed, except for some relatively small slap on the wrist fines on the companies they operate (and not they themselves). And the executives of Enron and WorldCom and others who have also fleeced the public out of billions of dollars remain at large, unscathed while sitting on John Q. Public's retirement funds secreted at various off-shore tax shelters.

So why pick on Mart when there are so many more miscreants who transgressions make hers pale in comparison. Could it be an effort to take Hillary down? Martha is after all, a left leaning, strong willed, independent woman. She is a supporter of Hillary Clinton who also comes across as a strong, independent woman; and someone old white men fear more than they do young black men.

Me thinks that this is all an assassination attempt at their image and that Opra had better consider this a fair warning.
